The REX car elevators are pantograph-style vehicle lift systems with capacity ranging from 5,500 lbs. to 6,600 lbs. They are uniquely designed to safely  lift cars without the need to distribute the weight evenly on the platform.

FEATURES

OMER’S REX car elevator is very versatile. It is designed to accommodate vehicles with heavy engines and an extremely long wheel base, this is due to the longer dimensions of the platform of 236.2 in. and its weight bearing capacity of up to 6,600 lbs.

This unit is extremely compact (since the platform structure requires a pit of just 20 in.) and yet is still extremely sturdy. The sturdiness and reliability of this car elevator allows you the ability to park any type of vehicle with the heaviest section (that is the engine/transmission compartment at the front of the vehicle) positioned on the unsupported part of the platform without compromising the platforms stability in any way.

The platform is comprised of a series of low-profile and light-weight galvanized panels. The underlying part of the platform is supported by a steel skeleton that ensures the utmost reliability. It is also customizable with the ability to adapt the width of the platform to the customer’s cars dimensions by varying the width of the side platform profile, thus maximizing the remaining floor space.

The platform wheel stop (standard) ensures correct positioning of the vehicle. This acts as a safeguard by preventing any abrupt forward movement of the vehicle while the platform is in motion. Another stop, found at the rear of the unit, prevents any abrupt rear movement of the vehicle.

Thanks to the symmetry of the REX’s design, the weight does not need to be centered on the platform itself, thus it can double as either a goods lift or a car lift. It has four mobile points at the ends of the two double legs, thus ensuring perfect symmetry and preventing the need for any overhanging platform parts.

The two bases on which the legs of the REX slide are secured to the ground with mechanical anchors. The wheels are installed with wear resistant plastic bushes that prevent friction and thus extend the life cycle of the lift. Likewise, the fixed frame has a base secured to the ground with mechanical anchors; it is installed with a pin inserted into the wear-resistant plastic bushings as well.

The hydraulic system is composed of two pistons (manufactured by Omer S.p.A.), each fitted with a differential valve able to sense differences in oil pressure. If such changes occur (for example, if a hydraulic connection breaks or there is a major oil leak), the solenoid valve immediately closes the connection between the piston and the hydraulic connections, preventing oil from flowing out of the piston. Moreover, two separate limit switches are set on a shaft to the left of the piston and used to regulate platform travel. A third limit switch is installed as safety back-up in the unlikely event of a double failure.

The REX is fitted with a junction box to connect the car elevator to the electrical control panel, and is set on the lower spacer of the fixed-point leg ensuring easy accessibility. All systems are pre-installed on the unit; this ensures a quick and smooth installation. The great accessibility of the hydraulic block, the speed control valves, and the manometer (which controls operating pressure) make maintenance and intervention on the lift simple and safe.
